Buffy meta for month_of_meta. This is psychological in nature, but I'm pretty sure it's totally accessible to anybody without any background in psychology. My entire background in psychology culminates in my big psych final exam tomorrow afternoon for my one semester psych class, so none of this is too advanced.

This is a discussion of Buffy Summers, Xander Harris, and Willow Rosenberg and how their characters differ according to their parents' attachment styles and parenting styles. I'd absolutely love to hear anybody's thoughts on this, whether they're in regards to characterization or psychology or just how much you love these characters.

This is my piece for Big_Damn_Fest, a monthlong celebration of the works of Joss Whedon. Today was my day and the BtVS episode "Phases" was the episode I chose to celebrate. Oz is my favourite of Whedon's characters, hands down. Not a popular choice, but I love Oz regardless. So, even though it's a somewhat heavy handed episode with rather weak costuming, I adore "Phases." When I chose "Phases," because Willow is fantastic in this episode and because this is the only Oz-centric episode that isn't heartbreaking, I planned to write Oz/Willow fic, because Oz/Willow is my absolute favourite pairing, but instead Oz + Buffy happened. I hate that Oz only ever seemed close to Willow, when I think he should've been friends with the others, so here's Oz + Buffy genfic, to make up for that a little. I hope you enjoy it

Three Sentence Ficathon Multifandom Fic Roundup

I've been fairly obsessively participating in the Three Sentence Ficathon on Dreamwidth, so here's a round up of all of the three sentence stories I've written so far. It's been a terrific writing exercise, as it's forced me to tell a story in only three sentences, which can be incredibly tricky if you have a lot to say. It's also inspired me to explore other fandoms a little, and to push out of my comfort zone in terms of what I've written. Fic: The Precise Art of Balancing Work and Play

Here's my second fill for my Trope Bingo card. This trope: Fusion. I was a tad bit shaky on the fusion trope, so I went with my own interpretation of the trope. Instead of fusing two entire universes together, I fused the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically, The Avengers.

Characters: Willow Stark/Ironwoman, Elizabeth "Buffy" Rogers/Captain America, Daniel "Oz" Banner/Hulk, Faith Romanoff/Black Widow, Angel Barton/Hawkeye, Agent Dawn Hill.

Summary: Avengers team gen, in which Willow Stark spearheads an effort to teach Buffy Rogers all about life after WWII. Set after the Battle of New York, in a BtVS/Avengers fusion, where the Scooby Gang exists in the MCU in the roles of the Avengers.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters or other nouns in either the BtVS or Marvel universes. Those things all belong to people far more successful than I.

A/N: My first time playing in the MCU. It was funny trying to amalgamate characters. Some were very obvious matches and easy to work with (i.e. Oz-Bruce Banner) and others were workable, but took a little more thought (i.e. Willow Rosenberg-Tony Stark). Bonus points to anybody who can guess who Xander is in this fusion universe or who can guess who from the Buffyverse is this universe's Thor.

Film Reccomendations

I'm now entering day 3 of being disgustingly germ-ridden and ill. I've spent most of the past three days sleeping and camping out in front of my TV watching movies or The West Wing, but my DVD collection has all been watched.

I'm looking for reccomendations for movies, because I've turned to my Netflix instant streaming, but the movies are organized really bizarrely on there, and I don't even know where to start. I've watched The Expendables (which was very weak and made me a little bit angry) and Heathers (which was campy and fun) and I'm either watching Melancholia or Shakespeare in Love next.

I'd love any reccomendations for movies you loved or that made you laugh or made you feel less crappy when you were ill, so let me know!

Sign-Ups Now Open for the 2013 Werewolf in Love Ficathon!!

Sign-Ups open today, on the 15th anniversary of the BtVS episode "Phases," for the first annual Werewolf in Love Ficathon! This ficathon, (found at werewolf_inlove and run by me) is a celebration of the relationship between Willow Rosenberg and Daniel "Oz" Osbourne. Why? Because Willow and Oz had a very sweet, very positive relationship, and it's time to celebrate that, and show some love in the form of fanfiction for an under-appreciated ship!

It's a fairly easy going ficathon, with a commitment of only 1,000 words and two months between sign-ups closing and posting opening. It's not a fic exchange and there are no assignments, so all authors are free to write what they want, and there are optional prompts available for anybody searching for inspiration. Absolutely everyone is welcome to participate, from hardcore fans of Willow and/or Oz to just casual fans of Buffy.

If you're interested, rules and guidelines can be found here, you can sign-up here and you can learn even more at the official home of the ficathon, werewolf_inlove .

Sign-ups run from January 27, 2013 until February 20, 2013.

A/N: Based on my earlier fic Survivors (which is actually the first section of this fic), this is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer zombie AU. The name "Walkers" was inspired by the graphic novel and TV sho The Walking Dead, but not really, because they call zombies "geeks" there. Also, this fic takes place in 2005 or later (because Willow and Oz make references to things that didn't exist before 2005), so both characters are in their early to mid 20s. Final note: the title comes from the Emily Dickinson poem "After Great Pain," which is all about mourning a lost loved one
